Sr Planner/Buyer - Development Programs

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY / East Aurora, NY, United States; first shift

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually

What you will do

• Plan and execute material and tooling requirements for developmental, one-off, and prototype programs by analyzing engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and monitor development-job progress for Program Managers and customers.
• Source and purchase specialty components according to project specifications.
• Manage Outside Processing purchase orders, including tracking and expediting parts sent for heat treatment, plating, and other processing.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, and terms while resolving supplier non-conformances with Quality and Supplier Development Engineering.
• Maintain development-part data in ERP/MRP systems and mitigate risks related to long-lead items and single-source suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 2 years of experience; OR an Associate’s degree in one of these fields plus at least 4 years of experience.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Sense of urgency.
• The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
