Project Management - Design Engineer (Outdoor Power Equipment)

Location: Anderson, SC, United States; up to 10% international travel required

What you will do

• Lead multiple low- to moderately complex engineering projects supporting mass production and continuous improvement.
• Develop project plans and schedules, identify critical path tasks and risks, track progress, and report schedule, cost, and risk status.
• Lead technical tradeoff discussions focused on cost, schedule, and performance, escalating project issues when appropriate.
• Apply the Product Development Process from conception through product launch and assess design and development maturity across its phases.
• Interpret engineering data and make recommendations involving simulation, materials and heat treatments, tolerance stacks, deviation analysis, statics and dynamics, and noise and vibration.
• Coordinate suppliers, cross-functional teams, and qualification testing for safety, durability, performance, and process capability.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience managing low- to moderately complex product development projects.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage several simultaneous projects to aggressive schedules in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.
• Knowledge of DFMA, cost modeling, teardown benchmarking, and root cause analysis techniques.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills.
• Ability to draft comprehensive test plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with CAD and project management tools.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.
