Systems Test Engineer (Python)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; on-site laboratory work is required.

Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $149,500–$224,500 annually.

What you will do

• Review system requirements for scope, accuracy, and testability.
• Determine whether each requirement should be validated through analysis, inspection, demonstration, or testing.
• Create test plans defining required test equipment, power supplies, cabling, tools, and configurations.
• Develop automated test procedures and applications using Python, Rust, C/C++, make scripts, and other technologies.
• Prepare formal test plans, procedures, and reports, and support design reviews including PDR, CDR, and TRR.
• Work with software, hardware, systems leads, and the team lead to connect design requirements with verification activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related subject area.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• US citizenship.
• Ability to work on site and in the laboratory with the units being tested.
• At least 5 years of integration and test experience.
• Experience with networking, including TCP, UDP, multicast, and network devices.
• Experience defining, deriving, and linking system-level requirements to allocated hardware and software baseline definitions.

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Willingness to go beyond stated requirements and remain inquisitive.
• Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team.
• Design experience in hardware, software, product, or systems engineering.
• Experience with software-defined radios or other wireless communication efforts.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
