Senior Java Developer (Tax Administration)

Location: Remote, Madrid, Spain

What you will do

• Develop and maintain components for a complex tax administration system covering tax declarations, calculations, assessments, and integrations with external systems.
• Implement software components according to design specifications and perform system integration, unit testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Participate in project estimation, delivery planning, stakeholder communication, and collaboration with a distributed project team of more than 20 people.
• Provide technical input into product roadmaps and participate in incident triage, analysis, and prioritization.
• Support and optimize CI/CD processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework and Quarkus.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL or another RDBMS.
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and messaging technologies such as Kafka or ActiveMQ.
• Good understanding of software testing principles.
• Ability to communicate confidently in English.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders and distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in Angular frontend development.
• German or Swiss German language skills.
