Senior Java Engineer - hybrid (m/f/n)

Location: Hybrid, with 1 day per week from the office in Warsaw or Kraków, Poland; remaining days remote

InPost Group operates an out-of-home delivery network and develops InPost Pay, an e-commerce platform combining payments, delivery arrangement, and order tracking.

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance Java and Spring Boot microservices.
• Build and maintain event-driven integrations with Apache Kafka.
• Own PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
• Operate services in a containerized cloud-native environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.
• Own features from requirements through production, collaborate with business stakeholders, and document system designs, RFCs, and ADRs.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, CI/CD, architecture discussions, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Java development with Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven patterns, and inter-service communication.
• Deep knowledge of JVM internals, including the memory model, garbage collection tuning, concurrency, and performance profiling.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle, Git, Jira, Confluence, code reviews, CI/CD, stakeholder communication, and technical documentation.
• English at B2+ level is required; hybrid attendance in Warsaw or Kraków is required one day per week.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, or Event Sourcing experience.
• Experience with gRPC, GraphQL, GCP services, MongoDB, or high-throughput low-latency systems.
• Background in e-commerce, logistics, or fintech.
