Platform Engineer (Fintech)

Location: London, Old Street; 2 days in the office.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Azure foundations with Terraform, reusable infrastructure modules, and a standard Kubernetes baseline.
• Run network and edge infrastructure using Cloudflare, Istio, and Cato, and manage cloud identity, RBAC, managed identities, and service-to-service authentication.
• Consolidate secret and certificate management and automate infrastructure and container patching on a reliable fixed cadence.
• Build and maintain infrastructure CI/CD pipelines, templates, and build agents.
• Build and operate AI infrastructure using Microsoft Foundry, Anthropic, and OpenAI, including an AI and MCP gateway for access, routing, and authentication.
• Monitor infrastructure with Grafana, Prometheus, and Log Analytics, while contributing to cost management, disaster recovery, multi-cloud, documentation, and shared projects with Database Engineering, SRE, and Developer Enablement.

Requirements

• Experience managing public cloud environments, ideally Azure.
• Strong experience writing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Good networking knowledge, including DNS, load balancing, TLS, and CDNs or WAFs such as Cloudflare.
• Experience with cloud identity and access management, RBAC, and secrets management.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in a scripting language such as Go, Rust, PowerShell, or Python.
• Ability to embrace AI in day-to-day work, automate repetitive tasks, apply judgement, and focus on high-impact problems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI platforms or LLM APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Microsoft Foundry.
• Experience running a multi-cloud setup with Azure and GCP.
• Experience with zero-trust networking or tools such as Cato.
