Intermediate Developer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote within the United States and Canada; employees must work from their home country and be ready to travel for in-person engagement such as department offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events.

Annual base salary: $123,000–$172,000 USD for US-based roles; $111,000–$155,000 CAD for Canada-based roles. Benefits, equity, and applicable incentive programs are additional.

What you will do

• Build and improve the services powering Device Trust authentication.
• Write and maintain production code across application services and dependencies.
• Improve reliability, observability, operability, and resilience through software, automation, and engineering practices.
• Work across cloud infrastructure, networking, deployment systems, and operational tooling.
• Establish safer ways to make and validate changes to critical systems, and participate in incident response and post-incident learning.
• Partner with Device Trust, Platform, Security, and other engineering teams to reduce operational friction and improve customer experience.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with backend services, APIs, distributed systems, or other software where reliability and availability matter.
• Ability to take ownership of scoped problems from investigation through implementation and follow-up.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience using observability tools to understand system health and investigate issues.
• Care for testing, maintainability, and clarity in code and documentation.
• Clear communication, including sharing progress, raising blockers early, and explaining outcomes to stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with or exposure to Kubernetes.
• Experience with Datadog.
• Experience with Terraform.
