Senior D365 Business Central Functional Consultant (Microsoft Dynamics 365)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV implementation projects across discovery, requirements, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, training, go-live, hypercare, and post-implementation support.
• Lead discovery and solution-design workshops, analyse business processes, and translate requirements into scalable Business Central solutions.
• Own functional workstreams, delivery planning, estimates, dependencies, risks, issues, scope, quality, governance, and customer outcomes across multiple project phases.
• Work with technical architects, developers, integration specialists, project managers, customers, finance leaders, and operational stakeholders to deliver solutions correctly.
• Support pre-sales through discovery, demonstrations, proposals, statements of work, estimates, and transition into delivery.
• Provide functional leadership, review deliverables, delegate work, and mentor consultants and associate consultants.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a senior or lead functional consultant on customer-facing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV implementations.
• Strong finance and business process expertise, including General Ledger, financial reporting, fixed assets, accounts payable, procure-to-pay, accounts receivable, order-to-cash, cash management, bank reconciliation, purchasing, sales, inventory, warehouse processes, approval workflows, jobs or project management, dimensions, roles and permissions, configuration packages, and multi-company and multi-currency environments.
• At least five years of relevant Business Central or Dynamics NAV functional consulting experience, including experience leading functional workstreams or complete implementations.
• Demonstrable experience with discovery, requirements gathering, process analysis and mapping, fit-gap analysis, functional solution design, configuration, functional specifications, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, data migration, training, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and post-implementation support.
• Experience producing functional specifications and solution-design documentation for technical delivery teams.
• Experience leading workshops and presenting recommendations to senior customer stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between business requirements, standard product functionality, configuration, integrations, extensions, and custom development.
• Experience supporting existing Business Central implementations and identifying optimisation or additional-service opportunities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across several functional workstreams, with strong risk, issue, dependency-management, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build customer relationships, communicate complex concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences, manage challenging scope and risk discussions, work independently, and take ownership of complex functional challenges.

Nice to have

• Business Central pre-sales experience, including discovery, solution positioning, demonstrations, and proposal development.
• Experience with Jet Reports or other Business Central reporting solutions.
• Experience with Continia Document Capture and Continia Expense Management.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
• Experience designing Business Central solutions for multi-company or multi-currency organisations, supply chain and distribution, manufacturing, contracting, professional services, or public-sector organisations.
• Experience with Business Central integrations and third-party applications.
• Understanding of data migration planning, data quality, reconciliation, and cutover controls.
• Relevant Microsoft Business Central functional certifications.
• Experience with consulting methodologies, practice development, reusable delivery assets, managed services, customer success, or account-growth activity.
