Principal Network Architect

Location: Limerick, Ireland; hybrid workplace. Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of employment.

What you will do

• Architect and implement the global enterprise network and the applications and services running on it.
• Translate conceptual and logical designs into physical designs aligned with modernization and transformation roadmaps.
• Research technologies and develop solutions that improve performance, availability, resiliency, security, and total cost of ownership.
• Provide technical guidance and strategic leadership to engineering, infrastructure, and application teams.
• Lead and mentor network team members and collaborate with operations teams to improve system availability and efficiency.
• Resolve escalated global network issues and provide on-call or off-hours support when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, information systems, or an equivalent technical discipline, with 15+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, 20+ years of relevant IP networking experience.
• 10+ years of experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SD-WAN, Layer 2 protocols, WAN/LAN, transport technologies, and data center networking.
• 10+ years of experience with network security, IPsec, VPN, AAA, SSH, RADIUS, TACACS+, PKI, QoS, NTP, DHCP, SNMP, and related protocols.
• Extensive experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus, Juniper MX, Aruba, and Arista platforms.
• Expertise in several areas including next-generation firewalls, network access control, load balancing, cloud security, workflow automation, DNS/IPAM/DHCP, colocation, and data center migration.
• Existing right to work in Ireland is required; employment permit sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Tufin, F5, NetScaler, Forescout, Cisco ISE, Infoblox, Active Directory, CyberArk, AWS, Azure, or Illumio.
• Experience leading and collaborating with global technical teams.
