Principal Software Engineer (Amazon DynamoDB)

What you will do

• Own the current and future architecture for DynamoDB’s control plane, metadata, and continuous data protection capabilities.
• Design and develop large-scale, resilient storage systems and distributed architectures.
• Define business and architecture vision with leaders across the database services organization.
• Translate customer needs into scalable technology solutions and communicate architectural decisions to AWS leadership and stakeholder teams.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience creating architectural vision and designing large-scale systems in multi-tiered, distributed environments.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and partnering with product or program management teams.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and databases, including hyper-scale systems, global data replication, consistency, and high-availability architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience designing large-scale, distributed, high-traffic applications with NoSQL storage.
• Experience with AWS services and NoSQL technologies.
• Publications or speaking experience at technical conferences.
