Senior Software Development Engineer (DynamoDB)

What you will do

• Design and implement highly available, horizontally scalable distributed systems for storing and serving customer data.
• Lead the technical design of large features and multi-quarter initiatives, turning ambiguous problems into deliverable plans.
• Solve challenges involving replication, consistency, partitioning, reliability, security, and performance at massive scale.
• Drive operational excellence for a tier-1 service through observability improvements, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and on-call participation.
• Lead design and code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and mentor SDE I and SDE II engineers.

Requirements

• Experience mentoring engineers, acting as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience leading architecture and design for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Professional, non-internship software development experience, including development within the last three years.
• Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, with object-oriented design knowledge.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
