Lead Data Engineer (Game Analytics)

Location: United Kingdom, London; flexible hybrid working with most time spent remotely and office attendance for important team meetings, collaboration sessions, and business activities.

What you will do

• Own parts of high-volume data pipelines and drive improvements aligned with technical and business goals.
• Build supporting pipeline services, including integrations with in-game maps and video tooling.
• Integrate the data collection platform with BI tools to enable studio self-service.
• Collaborate with DevOps, analytics engineers, and stakeholders across the studio business group.
• Improve data quality, lineage, observability, documentation, and existing tooling.
• Act as a technical expert and share knowledge with colleagues while helping define the platform's technical direction.

Requirements

• Experience building and owning data pipelines for high-throughput streaming and batch data.
• Strong Go programming skills, or Python experience with willingness to learn Go.
• Experience building robust, scalable, and resilient services.
• Evidence of measurable impact in current and previous roles.
• Ability to solve data problems and take responsibility for quality, investigations, and remediation.
• Experience with cloud data services, including AWS services such as Amazon S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Data Firehose, Athena, and AWS Glue.

Nice to have

• Use of AI during the development cycle, including Claude Code, Codex, or other harnesses.
• Experience with near real-time data processing, querying, and visualisation.
• Experience with Omni Analytics or a similar BI tool such as Looker or Tableau.
• GitHub and GitHub Actions experience.
