Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Analyst (Power BI/Python/SQL)

Location: Nottingham, England; hybrid with 40% office attendance

What you will do

• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, data models, and visualizations.
• Create DAX measures, calculated columns, and basic time-intelligence calculations.
• Develop Python-based data pipelines that connect to REST APIs and process JSON and other structured data.
• Clean, transform, validate, and load data into relational databases using Python and SQL.
• Define and validate KPIs, integrate data from multiple sources, and investigate data discrepancies.
• Improve dashboard performance, usability, logging, error handling, and data quality.

Requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Some programming experience with Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Power BI or another data visualization and business intelligence tool.
• Understanding of tables, relationships, joins, aggregations, data modeling, and data quality.
• Academic or personal experience creating dashboards, ETL pipelines, or data engineering projects.
• Some technical experience with REST APIs, JSON, MySQL, AWS, or Git.
