Cloud FinOps Practitioner

What you will do

• Monitor cloud and AI usage and cost trends across AWS, Azure, and GCP, investigating anomalies.
• Build and maintain CloudZero dashboards and reports that provide actionable insight to engineers and leadership.
• Support cost allocation, tagging, chargeback, account attribution, and tracking of AI and LLM spend by team and cost centre.
• Identify savings opportunities through idle-resource analysis, rightsizing, and commitment coverage, and coordinate delivery with engineering teams.
• Write Python, Bash, or similar scripts and tools to automate reporting and routine FinOps work.
• Support monthly Finance reporting, budget tracking, forecasting inputs, and FinOps knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud cost analysis, IT finance, or a data or engineering role with cloud exposure.
• Working knowledge of pricing and billing models for at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong data analysis skills, including spreadsheets and SQL or a data analysis tool.
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or a similar language.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to trace numbers back to their source.

Nice to have

• FinOps Certified Practitioner or a cloud fundamentals certification.
• Experience with cost visibility tools, tagging, chargeback, or multi-account cloud environments.
• Experience with dashboarding tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.
