Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Milan or Amsterdam

What you will do

• Build and maintain dbt data models from raw source data to consumable mart tables for payment metrics and payment method performance dashboards.
• Build and maintain BI tooling for data visualisation and extraction by end users.
• Work with engineers to understand money movements and ensure financial data accuracy.
• Partner with Merchant Finance, Treasury, and Payments stakeholders to define financial data requirements and enable daily reconciliation.
• Create data visualisations, presentations, reports, and memos for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Implement data quality checks, testing frameworks, monitoring, documentation, and analytics best practices, including mentoring team members.

Requirements

• Strong technical foundation in SQL and Python, with experience in data modelling and automation.
• Strong experience with dbt.
• Ability to switch between high-level thinking and hands-on implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Business awareness, an impact-driven approach, and curiosity.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery, GCP, and Airflow.
• Experience with financial data and financial processes.
