Senior Analytics Engineer (Finance)

Location: Remote, anywhere in Spain or the UK; the role is also available in Germany. Employment is full-time and permanent, with Spain employment handled via Deel.

Salary: UK £74,800–£112,200 per year; Spain €77,600–€116,400 per year; Germany €76,000–€114,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain performant, cost-efficient dbt data models in the cloud data warehouse.
• Build finance and revenue models covering order-to-revenue flows, revenue recognition, refunds, adjustments, currency conversion, and reconciliation with ERP and other financial systems.
• Own the order-to-revenue pipeline and ensure orders resolve into recognized revenue accurately and traceably.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers, data engineers, Finance, and the ERP systems integrator to scale reliable ELT workflows and validate migration to the new ERP/EPM platform.
• Implement testing, documentation, monitoring, data-quality, and governance practices for mission-critical reporting.
• Translate business questions into production-ready data products and support adoption of self-service analytics and the modern data stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or analytics roles with significant modeling responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience building finance and/or revenue data models, ideally including order-to-revenue or billing-to-revenue pipelines, revenue recognition logic, or financial reconciliation with ERP, billing platforms, or similar systems.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills, including robust and scalable dimensional models.
• Significant hands-on experience with dbt Core or Cloud for transformation logic, testing, and documentation.
• Familiarity with BigQuery and data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
• Experience with modern BI platforms and semantic layers.
• Experience partnering with analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into structured data products.
• Strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, proactive ownership, and the ability to solve ambiguous problems from concept through production.
• Comfort communicating in English in meetings and asynchronously.

• LightDash experience.
• Experience in marketplace, telecom, travel, mobility, or B2C product businesses with high-volume event data.
• Experience establishing analytics engineering capabilities in low-maturity data environments or at a hypergrowth scale-up.
• Experience defining and governing company-wide KPIs and metric frameworks.
• Experience supporting FP&A, revenue accounting, audit processes, or other finance data-accuracy and traceability work.
