Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Manage and grow an engineering team, including onboarding, feedback, career development, and recruiting.
• Own product execution end to end, from customer scoping through shipping, measurement, and iteration.
• Stay hands-on with coding, code reviews, architecture decisions, and meaningful implementation work.
• Establish engineering best practices and own delivery for the platform team.
• Work directly with systems and requirements engineers at hardware companies.
• Help define how AI appears in the product, including agentic workflows and LLM-powered features.

Requirements

• 8+ years of production software development experience, including designing, testing, and operating services at scale in a cloud environment.
• 2+ years of experience managing engineers, ideally in an early-stage company or an environment with limited existing process structure.
• Experience shipping software that enterprise customers depend on, with an understanding of the implications for software development.
• Current hands-on coding experience.
• Direct communication skills and the ability to give difficult feedback.
• Comfort working in a high-ownership, fast-paced environment where experimentation and iteration are standard.

Nice to have

• Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, or another regulated hardware domain.
• Experience with requirements, ALM, PLM, or systems engineering tooling.
• Experience managing teams building LLM-powered or agentic features in production.
