Prin. Test Engineer - Onsite (Medical Devices)

Location: Onsite in Lafayette, Colorado, United States; U.S. work authorization sponsorship is offered for Principal-level roles and above.

Salary: $128,800–$193,200 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead system-level verification and validation strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for new product development programs.
• Develop verification protocols with acceptance criteria, statistical rationale, sample-size justifications, and regulatory-ready reports.
• Design, validate, and implement test methods for system compatibility, reliability, mechanical and electrical performance, and tissue interaction.
• Lead user-needs validation in real or simulated-use environments and document objective evidence of design effectiveness.
• Facilitate design reviews, risk-management activities, and cross-functional decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while partnering with systems, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, human factors, engineering, laboratory, and external development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of engineering or technical testing experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 3+ years.
• Experience leading system-level verification and/or validation planning, execution, and documentation for complex products.
• Experience developing test methods, verification protocols, acceptance criteria, and technical reports.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals and associated test equipment.
• Experience working effectively across cross-functional product development teams.
• For bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or defense.
• Experience testing medical devices or systems in ex-vivo tissue environments.
• Knowledge of IEC 60601 standards, electrical safety testing, and electromagnetic compatibility testing.
• Experience with system-level requirements traceability from design inputs through verification evidence.
• Experience supporting products with integrated mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems across the full V-model development lifecycle.
