Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $220,500–$298,500 per year, with potential cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the technical vision for an onboarding and account management platform using reusable components and a platform mindset.
• Build and integrate highly available, scalable, secure web applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Use customer behavior insights and data pipelines to improve customer nurture and product experiences.
• Develop technical designs and implementation plans balancing short-term delivery with long-term architecture goals.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and program management to guide technical decisions and change management.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical acumen, and influence solutions to complex cross-functional problems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, including 2+ years working as a solutions architect.
• Deep experience with data architecture, including SQL, NoSQL, and caching or in-memory databases such as Memcached and Redis.
• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale backend web services and platforms in an API-first environment.
• Backend development experience with Java, plus familiarity with frontend technologies including React and CSS.
• Experience with data pipelines applied to user experiences or backend solutions.
• Experience operating large-scale web platforms and microservices with attention to availability, security, performance, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Experience working across teams, reviewing technical architecture, managing delivery, and communicating strategy with senior leadership and executives.
• Clear, concise, and persuasive communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, along with strong mentoring experience.
• Self-starter attitude and ability to make independent decisions; BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
