Software Engineer, New Grad - Query Engines

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid workplace.

What you will do

• Build and extend data-processing infrastructure and query engines supporting hirify.global Foundry workloads.
• Work on query-plan optimization, execution operators, data reading and writing, and table-processing capabilities.
• Write planning rules, add capabilities to native execution engines, and improve the performance of large-table scans.
• Follow engineering work through design, code review, testing, and release in production systems.
• Maintain correctness, compatibility, and predictable performance across languages, services, and stack layers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, Rust, Scala, C++, or C.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Coursework or projects in databases, compilers, operating systems, or distributed systems.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
