Strategy Intern (MBA)

Location: United States, Los Angeles, CA or United States, San Mateo, CA. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $40.25–$43.75 USD per hour during the internship period.

What you will do

• Lead a defined strategy project from framing business questions and conducting research through evaluating options and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support high-priority, cross-functional strategy projects through business-case analysis, research synthesis, and executive presentation storytelling.
• Structure complex and ambiguous business questions, develop hypotheses, and identify quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Evaluate new business models, growth opportunities, and strategic alternatives, including trade-offs, risks, and business implications.
• Research consumer, competitive, industry, technology, and economic trends affecting PlayStation.
• Collaborate across functional, regional, consumer, commercial, and financial stakeholders and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an MBA at an accredited university.
• Expected graduation between May 2026 and December 2029 from an accredited university.
• Knowledge of the video game and/or digital entertainment industry.
• Experience conducting research and data analysis for business strategy and planning.
• Strong structured problem-solving skills for complex and ambiguous business questions.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet fixed deadlines.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to identify, propose, and manage projects with minimal supervision.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period and able to work during either May 17–August 6 or June 14–September 3.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without requiring work visa sponsorship from SIE.

Nice to have

• Experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, commercial strategy, or product marketing.
• Experience using AI tools for research, analysis, synthesis, or business recommendations.
• Experience with market sizing, business-model evaluation, consumer strategy, commercial strategy, or financial analysis.
• Familiarity with database-driven analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, R, Power BI, or MicroStrategy.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies, business models, and consumer trends shaping gaming and digital entertainment.
