Engineer 3, Sensor - SSP (Hybrid)

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; hybrid, requiring 2–3 days per week on-site.

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Understand, modify, and assume shared ownership of complex sensor detection and response capabilities.
• Develop expertise in Falcon Sensor core logic and support developers using the team’s technologies.
• Design and communicate system behavior, constraints, guarantees, and implementation details.
• Collaborate with engineering, adversary response, malware research, product, and program teams.
• Write code in multiple languages, including an internally developed asynchronous domain-specific language for responding to system events such as process creation and network traffic.
• Write unit, functional, and integration tests, and diagnose and resolve issues reported by customers or engineering teams.

Requirements

• Take responsibility for and ownership of delivered work.
• Design and implement performant, functionally correct, and well-structured logic.
• Understand, maintain, and improve a large existing codebase.
• Reason about, describe, and communicate complex, highly concurrent systems.
• Reason about endpoint-to-cloud interactions and communicate with cloud development teams during design and troubleshooting.
• Read and write C++; the role is not primarily focused on C++.
• Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team across time zones and continents.
• Have proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, increase efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Fluency and expertise in Linux development environments.
• Fluency in Python.
• Endpoint security background.
• Experience designing or writing virtual machine runtimes.
• System programming experience on macOS, Linux, or Windows.
