Sr Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Lexington Park, Maryland, United States; hybrid or in-office work with occasional travel.

Estimated starting salary: $150,661.49–$207,159.55 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering activities.
• Oversee complex system and decision analysis, technical planning, and technical risk management.
• Manage major project deliverables and support architecture, design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Influence project direction and maintain alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide technical leadership, communicate across stakeholders, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Proven leadership experience in systems engineering and knowledge of multiple engineering principles and practices.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation and allocation, systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and V&V principles.
• Current and active Secret U.S. security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment because an active U.S. security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Ability to act as the technical liaison between Navy labs at Naval Air Station Patuxent River and SNC engineering teams.
• Ability to diagnose issues on existing Multi-Intelligence Sensor Development platforms and recommend solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with SIGINT/ELINT systems.
• Experience with C, C++, Linux, and Python.
• Ability to build relationships with end users and capture the voice of the customer in product development and sustainment.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly and PRIVAC, or the ability to obtain the clearance and/or PRIVAC.
