Senior Frontend Engineer (Vue/AI)

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship fast, robust, user-friendly frontend features for the Provet Patient Care Experience using Vue 3, Nuxt, TypeScript, and the legacy UI where needed.
• Build Django views, JSON:API endpoints, queries, business logic, and matching tests for feature delivery.
• Own initiatives as the Directly Responsible Individual, turning vague ideas into shipped products and communicating trade-offs with product, design, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Use and orchestrate AI coding agents, creating codebase structure, tooling, and guardrails for safe autonomous work while measuring effects on quality and throughput.
• Optimize performance and responsiveness for data-heavy pages, troubleshoot issues from browser traces to database queries, and ensure UI/UX feasibility.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and veterinary domain experts; contribute through code reviews, mentoring, tooling, infrastructure, and development-process improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in Vue, including Vue 3 and Composition API, with TypeScript and large-scale JavaScript codebases.
• Working experience with Python and Django, or a strong demonstrated willingness to build backend pieces of individual features.
• Deep, daily experience orchestrating AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex, including delegating and reviewing substantial work, building context and guardrails, and evaluating their strengths and limitations.
• Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals and experience building accessible user interfaces.
• Experience building data-heavy, interactive UIs where performance is a feature.
• Experience with automated frontend testing across unit, component, and end-to-end tests.
• Full proficiency in written and spoken English.
