Engineer 1: Agentic AI - Inventory Solutions (Agentic AI)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, US.

Salary: $104,500.00–$162,500.00 annual, with possible performance-based incentives or bonuses.

hirify.global operates a multi-market, multi-channel retail business with inventory platforms supporting audits, vendor data, in-transit tracking, reconciliation, and downstream enterprise systems.

What you will do

• Implement components of agentic inventory solutions, including Jira, Slack, Confluence, and internal inventory API integrations, prompt templates, and retrieval steps.
• Ground agents in audit records, ledger state, vendor data, and other inventory context so outputs are accurate and traceable.
• Build and run evaluation scripts and offline benchmarks for safe, accurate, and reliable agent behavior.
• Participate in on-call rotations and design reviews, debug owned components, and surface technical trade-offs.
• Add logging, metrics, and alerts while following engineering, security, and sensitive-data handling standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to reduce manual audit and reconciliation effort.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience, including internships, or a relevant certification such as a bootcamp.
• Required hands-on exposure to LLMs or foundation model APIs, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or comparable platforms.
• Genuine curiosity about agentic AI, including how agents use tools, retrieve context, and take actions, with a desire to build production skills.
• Solid computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design, plus familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and service communication.
• Basic understanding of software testing practices and version control such as Git.
• Willingness to learn agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or the Claude Agent SDK.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, feedback-seeking mindset.

Nice to have

• Coursework, personal projects, or internship experience in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, or vector databases.
• Exposure to Java with Spring Boot or Python, and messaging middleware such as Kafka.
• Exposure to AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD basics.
• Familiarity with backend databases such as Spanner or Postgres.
• Interest or coursework in retail, e-commerce, supply chain, or inventory.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects or personal experimentation with LLM applications.
