Forward Deployed Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site in Framingham, Massachusetts, embedded at a harness manufacturing plant.

Base salary: $112,012–$168,018 per year, plus potential annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Provide on-site first-line support for Cadonix smartBuild, troubleshooting software, configuration, data, integrations, workstations, terminals, scanners, label printers, and other connected shop-floor hardware.
• Work with plant production, engineering, and quality teams to understand manufacturing workflows, resolve local issues, and improve system adoption.
• Develop and maintain AWS scripts, integrations, reports, and small operational tools according to development standards for code review, testing, and deployment.
• Capture and prioritize feature improvements and modification requests, coordinate them with Product and Development teams, and support on-site user acceptance testing.
• Document reproducible defects with logs and business impact, track fixes, verify resolutions on site, and lead root-cause analysis for recurring or high-impact issues.
• Train operators, supervisors, and engineers and maintain site procedures, runbooks, and a knowledge base.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience combined with education.
• 3–5 years of experience in software development, support, or implementation.
• Understanding of production environments and shop-floor workflows.
• Experience engaging directly with customers.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying applications on AWS, including services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or C#.
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, Windows and Linux environments, web-based applications, and APIs.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Ability to work with remote Product, Development, and QA teams across time zones and alongside a senior Forward Deployed Engineer on site.
