Autonomy Development Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite five days a week at the Mossville, Illinois or Irving, Texas office; up to 10% travel required.

Salary: $97,530–$158,480 per year.

What you will do

• Design and develop application software for machine collision mitigation, avoidance, robotic applications, and driver monitoring systems.
• Work with software requirements to develop new features and coordinate with hardware component and testing teams.
• Document architecture specifications, software design descriptions, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
• Use appropriate tools to debug, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware systems.
• Assist with software verification and validation processes and contribute to customer safety.

Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools, with the ability to write, design, test, debug, troubleshoot, and maintain source code and computer programs using C++ and Python.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle and structured methodologies for delivering and managing software products.
• Knowledge of software product testing, including designing, planning, and executing testing strategies to ensure quality and compliance with requirements.
• Knowledge of problem-solving approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, and process problems.
• Demonstrated customer-back mindset, urgency, innovative thinking, open and direct communication, and focus on accelerating early customer value.
• Mining or construction industry experience is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven engineering experience as a Software Engineer working with requirements.
• Software development experience for machine applications.
• Test verification experience supporting projects with camera and radar detection sensors.
• DevOps experience.
