Senior Software Engineer (IoT)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and implement core platform features for integrating distributed energy resources into multiple energy-management use cases.
• Help migrate a monolithic platform to a scalable, maintainable microservices architecture.
• Lead technical initiatives involving data modeling, contract definition, web services, and API development.
• Develop high-quality front-end and back-end solutions with automated testing.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders on high-impact technical projects.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to CI/CD, rapid prototyping, and iterative development practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong full-stack development experience, including front-end, back-end, and relational database modeling.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Java, preferably Java 11 or later.
• Experience with web services, gRPC, RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development.
• Ability to work independently, provide technical direction, and design scalable solutions.
• Experience using AI tools in development and testing to improve delivery speed and code quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, asynchronous messaging such as SNS/SQS or RabbitMQ, AWS, Datadog, or Robot Framework.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Experience in the energy industry.
