RF Engineer (GNSS)

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland. On-site position.

What you will do

• Design custom GNSS antennas and receiver modules, extending them toward Controlled Reception Pattern Antennas for GNSS-denied environments.
• Integrate GNSS and radio-link antennas into drones, validating designs through electromagnetic simulation, laboratory testing, and flight tests.
• Develop, maintain, and configure a GNSS test bench for satellite-constellation simulation and interference scenarios.
• Characterize RF performance using network and spectrum analyzers, and simulate antenna iterations with electromagnetic software.
• Lead EMC troubleshooting and pre-compliance testing, while collaborating with PCB designers on routing, shielding, and RF layout.
• Own RF architecture, link budgets, and system-level RF performance across product lines; mentor junior engineers on RF layout and EMC mitigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proven experience taking complex wireless devices from concept through mass production, including overcoming strict EMC compliance requirements.
• Solid GNSS knowledge, hands-on experience with a GNSS test bench for simulating edge-case environments, and understanding of effects such as multipath.
• Experience designing custom antennas under tight mechanical and space constraints using electromagnetic simulation tools.
• Strong command of RF fundamentals and measurement equipment, including network and spectrum analyzers; comfortable working in an anechoic chamber.
• Analytical, meticulous, structured, resilient, and hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead stakeholders from junior team members to senior executives.
