Forward Deployed Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Zürich, Switzerland; on-site customer deployments and approximately 20% travel to customer sites.

hirify.global is building an AI intelligence layer for next-generation humanoid robots and deploying robot capabilities with industry partners.

What you will do

• Own technical delivery for key customer accounts and ensure stable integrations on customer robot hardware.
• Lead on-site deployments, write production code, and support the software lifecycle from initial bring-up through daily operations.
• Triage and resolve issues across software, hardware interfaces, networking, and system integration.
• Collaborate with R&D and Product to expand deployments and unblock customer rollouts.
• Capture logs and field failure modes, communicate actionable feedback, and create deployment documentation and operations manuals.

Requirements

• MS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Production-level proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience developing software for robotics hardware, including hardware abstraction layers, motor controller drivers, or sensor integrations.
• Extensive robotics hardware and software integration experience, with practical troubleshooting on real robots.
• Knowledge of IPv4, TCP/IP, subnetting, Linux networking tools, perception sensors and pipelines, and embedded protocols including Ethernet, MIPI, I2C, and SPI.
• Strong experience with ROS2 and DDS, plus excellent customer-facing communication skills and flexibility to travel approximately 20%.
