What you will do

• Design and specify hypervisor and storage chassis for cloud data centers.
• Evaluate and qualify new hardware technologies and vendors for deployment at scale.
• Develop hardware standards, best practices, and lifecycle management processes.
• Analyze hardware utilization, performance, and failure rates to optimize fleet efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware issues in production environments.
• Collaborate with site reliability and software engineers to enhance hardware-software integration.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of x86/ARM server architectures, memory hierarchies, and I/O systems.
• Experience in large-scale data center environments.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems and hardware management tools like IPMI or BMC.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Knowledge of Open Compute Project and data center power/cooling systems.
• English: Good communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Experience with hardware automation and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
