Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Onsite five days a week in Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL.

Salary: $112,710.00–$183,140.00 annually.

What you will do

• Lead and contribute to analytics and applied AI initiatives using statistical and machine learning methods to support sales and services growth.
• Translate business needs into insights, recommendations, models, and scalable digital solutions with business leaders, business segments, and analytics teams.
• Coach and mentor data scientists across the development, validation, deployment, and responsible application of analytical solutions.
• Research and apply emerging analytical and AI techniques to improve business outcomes and expand team capabilities.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of machine learning principles, technologies, and algorithms, including classification, regression, optimization, descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL with NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas, or R, with the ability to develop and modify code for business problems.
• Extensive analytical thinking skills, including root-cause analysis, alternative solution development, exploratory data analysis, data mining, data cleaning, and writing, debugging, and implementing queries across multiple tables or databases.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, processes, and practices for measuring business results and supporting business decisions.
• High accuracy and attention to detail when completing analytical work.
• Knowledge of data management systems and query and database access tools for searching, extracting, and formatting data.
• Knowledge of requirements analysis tools and techniques, including eliciting, analyzing, and recording functional and non-functional requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent graduate education and relevant experience.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights and solve business challenges.
• Experience with applied AI, advanced statistical methods, forecasting, machine learning, or production environments.
• Strong Python, SQL, and data visualization experience.
• Cloud platform experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience leading analytics projects, mentoring others, connecting data across business domains, and supporting profitable growth.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
