Associate Director, Internal Audit - Transformation & Change

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia; hybrid working with three days in the office and two days remote or from home.

What you will do

• Lead complex transformation, change, and programme assurance reviews covering governance, risk management, internal controls, delivery execution, and benefits realisation.
• Assess major technology programmes, operating model changes, regulatory projects, and strategic investments to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
• Build relationships with executives, programme sponsors, transformation leaders, and governance stakeholders while providing objective, commercially focused challenge.
• Plan and deliver audit work through resource management, data analytics, continuous monitoring, and evidence-based reporting to the Audit Committee and senior leadership.
• Lead, coach, and develop audit professionals and improve Internal Audit methodologies and transformation assurance capabilities.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Internal Audit, Risk, Assurance, Consulting, or a related discipline, including proven expertise assessing large-scale transformation, technology, operating model, and business change initiatives.
• Strong understanding of programme governance, portfolio management, risk management, internal controls, organisational change management, and benefits realisation frameworks.
• Ability to assess complex issues, synthesise large volumes of information, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior executives and governance forums.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, including experience challenging constructively and building credibility across executive and operational leadership teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Big 4 consulting firm such as Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG in Transformation Assurance, Risk Advisory, Internal Audit, Programme Assurance, or Management Consulting.
