Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Galway, Ireland; flexible hybrid work with work-from-home flexibility and onsite collaboration available in the Galway office.

What you will do

• Design and develop high-quality, efficient, testable software for key product features.
• Own features end to end, from design through acceptance testing and deployment.
• Contribute to system architecture and the wider product ecosystem, including Product roadmap direction.
• Review code, improve readability, apply best practices, and anticipate technical issues.
• Troubleshoot post-deployment production support issues and develop solutions.
• Mentor team members, improve team velocity, and apply appropriate data security, traceability, and information-sharing processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Excellent programming skills, particularly in Java.
• Working experience with REST API back-end services.
• Expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming and design.
• Proactive, self-driven approach and a growth mindset.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and listening skills.

Nice to have

• Cloud-native application development experience, preferably with AWS.
• Familiarity with Natural Language Understanding concepts and solutions.
• Understanding of microservices architecture principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with voice bot platforms.
• Experience with Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech concepts and technologies.
• Experience working on research projects.
• Experience working with remote engineering teams.

Hiring process

• Application review by the Talent Acquisition team and hiring team.
• Zoom interview with a Talent Acquisition Partner, followed by meetings with the hiring manager and interview team.
