Software Development Engineer, Amazon Optics

Location: Dublin, Ireland. EU citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure services that protect AWS physical locations.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from scoping and design through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Build scalable services deployed across AWS regions in a fully Infrastructure as Code environment.
• Own operational excellence by identifying root causes, implementing permanent fixes, and improving team operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers on architecture, code reviews, documentation, and customer-focused solutions.
• Automate operational inefficiencies while maintaining high quality and reliability standards.

Requirements

• EU citizenship is required.
• Professional, non-internship experience in software development.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Professional programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
