Technical Trainer, Midwest (Networking)

Location: Remote, based in Chicago, Illinois, United States; approximately 65%–75% domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice.

What you will do

• Lead engaging in-person and remote technical training sessions, courses, webinars, and podcasts for customers and partners.
• Explain complex technical concepts in an approachable, relevant, and practical way for diverse audiences.
• Develop, update, and refine training materials based on evolving products, technologies, industry trends, and customer needs.
• Assess training needs, contribute to learning programs, and use customer feedback to improve training experiences.
• Represent training programs, products, and technology initiatives while building relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Maintain training facilities, equipment, and technology and take ownership of preparation, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Four or more years of experience in technical training, education, or a related field.
• Technical background in IP technologies, networking, or a strong passion for learning and teaching technical concepts.
• Knowledge of networking technologies, including switching or routing.
• Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to engage an audience, adapt to changing classroom needs, and make technical information easy to understand.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, flexible, and detail-oriented approach.
• Collaborative mindset and confidence to take initiative.

Nice to have

• Experience with network video surveillance, CCTV, or IP network cameras.
• Experience in technical support, technical sales, or customer education.
• Experience in healthcare, education, retail, banking, or government sectors.
• Relevant networking or security industry certifications.
• Degree in a related technical or educational field.
