Freelance Learning Content Reviewer (American English for German Speakers)

What you will do

• Review text, audio and images for accuracy, clarity, naturalness and consistency, identifying issues that could confuse or mislead learners.
• Assess lesson progression, learning goals, gaps and overlaps, and suggest curriculum improvements.
• Ensure spelling, vocabulary, idioms, pronunciation and cultural references follow American English conventions.
• Review German instructions, translations and explanations from the perspective of German-speaking English learners, anticipating typical learner mistakes.
• Quality-check AI-generated content, identify recurring errors and help improve AI-assisted content production.
• Document actionable feedback and contribute to review guidelines, style standards and checklists while collaborating with product managers, linguists, learning content strategists and engineers.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in at least one of proofreading, translation, language teaching or learning content quality testing.
• Native or near-native American English and fluent German, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages.
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify mistranslations and mismatches between audio and transcripts.
• Understanding of what makes language-learning content clear and motivating.
• Comfort using AI tools as part of the content-review workflow.
• Ability to manage time independently, meet deadlines and communicate proactively.
• Comfort working in a fast-changing environment where processes evolve.
