Operations Analyst - Settlements (Fresh Grads)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid work with a minimum expectation of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home. A valid Malaysian work permit is mandatory.

What you will do

• Affirm equity derivative cash flows with counterparties, complete pre-settlement checks, and settle cash flows accurately.
• Identify and escalate issues that may delay settlement or create exceptions.
• Detect, escalate, and resolve booking issues involving direction, currency, index, notional, or counterparty details.
• Respond to internal and external client requests in a timely manner.
• Follow policies and procedures and support control, compliance, and management initiatives.
• Conduct investigations when required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the lifecycle of interest rate derivatives, including booking, resets, fixing advices, and settlements.
• Knowledge of interest cash-flow calculation and verification, standard settlement instructions, currency cut-offs and regulations, confirmation documents, ISDA definitions, market settlement standards, cash management, and funding requirements.
• Experience in treasury operations, especially settlements, and in payments and/or cash management.
• Understanding of financial markets, their general principles, and products.
• Ability to maintain focus in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
• Business writing and communication skills, with proficiency in the MS Office suite, especially Excel.
• Valid permission to work in Malaysia.
• Business, Management, Finance, or Accounting degree, or equivalent qualification, preferred for fresh graduates.

Nice to have

• Prior knowledge or understanding of SWIFT messaging, including MT103, MT199, MT202, MT202COV, and MT299.
• Understanding of Nostro accounts.
• Prior Calypso or Summit knowledge.
