Principal Engineer (AI)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel

What you will do

• Own complex product domains from architecture through production.
• Lead end-to-end feature development across frontend, backend, and cloud.
• Design and build scalable distributed systems and AI-powered product capabilities.
• Drive architectural decisions and technical direction across the platform.
• Work with the VP of R&D on technical strategy and architecture.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership without direct people management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with significant ownership of architecture and complex technical initiatives.
• Background as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Software Architect, or highly experienced Technical Lead.
• Strong system design and software architecture experience.
• Experience developing agentic systems, including retrieval, MCPs, and multi-agent flow orchestration.
• Experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
• Deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, React, cloud platforms preferably AWS, containers, and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience building a proof of concept, product, or service from the ground up.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with local government.
