Principal Analyst, Risk Monitoring

Location: Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work environment and defined in-person presence requirements. The role is also posted in other U.S. locations, including Jericho, Denver, Boston, Boca Raton, Plano, Tysons, Jersey City, Woodbridge, Washington, Rockville, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Salary: $107,500–$194,100 annually for Chicago, IL. Actual compensation depends on location, skills, experience, education, and market considerations.

What you will do

• Conduct risk monitoring activities and ongoing risk assessments of hirify.global member firms, including complex or elevated-risk firms, with guidance and minimal supervision.
• Support the Risk Monitoring Director in identifying existing and emerging risks and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze, communicate, and make recommendations on regulatory intelligence in collaboration with internal departments.
• Analyze internal and external data to assess inherent risks and develop regulatory responses for higher-risk areas.
• Mentor and coach junior risk monitoring staff and coordinate monitoring activities with specialists.
• Lead special projects and technology initiatives related to risk monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated analytical experience, including financial industry experience, processing regulatory developments, and applying them to complex business models.
• Experience with one or more inherent industry risks, such as Fraud and Deception, Money Laundering, or Market risk.
• hirify.global Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) certification or an acceptable industry equivalent is required upon hire or within 16 months of the start date of the assigned SIE training cohort.
• Advanced knowledge of hirify.global risk fundamentals; intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of securities rules and regulations and firm business models, business lines, customer bases, products, and services.
• Intermediate knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
• Ability to work effectively with senior business management, multiple departments, and staff in multiple locations.
• Intermediate written and verbal communication, financial analysis, and research skills.
• Ability to manage concurrent complex and unstructured assignments with autonomy and independent judgment.
• Intermediate-to-advanced quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word skills.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented, innovative, collaborative approach and ability to exchange ideas openly.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree such as an MBA or JD.
• Relevant industry certification beyond the required SIE or equivalent certification.
