What you will do

• Review customer applications for protection cover and assess relevant individual risk factors.
• Make fair, balanced underwriting decisions within the assigned authority level.
• Escalate complex cases and request additional information from customers and medical professionals.
• Respond clearly and professionally to customer and stakeholder queries.
• Record case information and decisions accurately while meeting agreed service standards.
• Build technical knowledge of protection products, regulation, and underwriting requirements.

Requirements

• Understanding of mortality and morbidity risk factors, or relevant knowledge that provides a foundation for developing this expertise.
• Experience in life assurance, protection, customer service, or pre-sales underwriting, or a relevant medical or scientific background.
• Interest in developing a career in underwriting.
• Ability to assess multiple sources of information and reach balanced decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills.

Nice to have

• Awareness of Life, Critical Illness, or Income Protection products.
• Knowledge of relevant regulation or underwriting systems.
