Staff Software Engineer (Android)

hirify.global builds and operates a remote-first product with an Android application that includes advertising experiences.

What you will do

• Architect and evolve a reusable, well-tested Android advertising platform.
• Deliver display, native, and video ad experiences across the application.
• Build privacy and consent capabilities in partnership with Legal and Privacy.
• Improve application loading speed, rendering smoothness, and user experience.
• Partner with Brands & Advertising, Product, Design, and Data to define the roadmap and measure revenue and engagement impact.
• Lead technical initiatives through design documents and RFCs, mentor engineers, and establish Android standards with the iOS team.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and shipping Kotlin Android applications at scale, with Staff-level technical leadership or equivalent experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with Google Ad Manager on Android, including native custom formats, key-value targeting, ad lifecycle, refresh, and fill and delivery debugging.
• Experience with ad verification and measurement using DoubleVerify, IAS, or Open Measurement SDK, including viewability.
• Strong experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, Hilt, and multi-module Android architecture.
• Experience designing systems from scratch and leading them through launch across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with video advertising, Google IMA SDK, ExoPlayer, or Media3.
• Experience with ads in live streams, SSAI, ad breaks in live content, or Amazon IVS.
• Experience building apps for families or youth and addressing COPPA considerations.
• Experience with BLE hardware integrations or subscriptions using Play Billing, RevenueCat, or Superwall.
