Lead Software Engineer – Enterprise Observability (AI)

Location: Remote work style, but candidates must live within a commutable distance of Louisville, KY; Tampa, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Dallas, TX; or Washington, D.C. Occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required.

Salary: $129,300–$177,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and optimize enterprise observability and logging platforms for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop automation scripts and tools for observability instrumentation, deployment, data routing, transformation, and endpoint monitoring.
• Integrate observability into CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure as code and configuration management.
• Build AI-native tools for autonomous issue detection and resolution.
• Lead observability initiatives, code reviews, validation checks, and cross-functional strategy with SRE, Security, Networking, Platform Engineering, and Data Science teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate technical recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience focused on observability or logging, including hands-on observability design and engineering.
• 2+ years of hands-on AI development experience, preferably in AI observability, plus experience developing data logging solutions and automation.
• Strong foundation in operating systems, networking, algorithms, and distributed systems, with experience maturing and scaling observability environments.
• Expertise with Splunk Cloud Enterprise and ES, including SPL, dashboards, correlation searches, data models, HEC, Universal Forwarder, and technology add-on development.
• Experience with ServiceNow, SOAR, ITSM/SecOps integrations, monitoring and alerting strategy, cost optimization, continuous delivery, and cross-functional technical leadership.
