Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) - Memphis (AI Data Centers)

Location: Southaven, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee; full-time onsite with extensive travel to data center construction sites

What you will do

• Inspect welds in progress and at completion on large-bore industrial piping and structural steel.
• Evaluate welds against applicable AWS and ASME codes, welding procedure specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Monitor GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW work, including joint preparation, fit-up, preheat, interpass conditions, cleaning, and consumable control.
• Verify welder qualifications, oversee nondestructive examination and testing, and confirm fabrication and inspection records are complete.
• Recommend and verify repairs, document inspection results, and communicate findings to construction, welding, and engineering teams.
• Support inspection hold points, punch-list completion, and system turnover while following hot-work, LOTO, PPE, and site rules.

Requirements

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Experience visually inspecting welded industrial piping and/or structural steel in the field.
• Ability to read isometric, spool, structural, weld-map, and arrangement drawings and record inspection results on a computer.
• Ability to work in industrial environments, climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 25 lb, stand and walk for a full shift, and wear PPE for extended periods.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and remain onsite during peak construction phases.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1.
• Nondestructive testing Level II certification or experience in VT, MT, PT, UT, or PAUT under ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
• Experience on data center, industrial, or heavy-civil construction sites.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent training.
