Define process equipment architecture, specifications, operating modes, and performance criteria.
Design, assemble, and operate prototypes for iterative design refinement.
Produce documentation for system layout, fabrication, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
Own process systems across multiple lifecycle stages and prepare technical documentation for regulatory filings.
Coordinate with external vendors on equipment analysis, procurement, and testing.
Requirements
Engineering education in mechanical, chemical, petroleum, aerospace, or a related discipline.
Experience designing or modifying process equipment used in petroleum, nuclear, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
Experience with fluids and process system design, power generation, heat transfer equipment, or systems engineering.
Experience designing compressible gas systems, including air and inert-gas systems.
Strong engineering fundamentals, systems engineering judgment, operations intuition, and technical communication skills.
Ability to meet the required Santa Clara onboarding and recurring travel schedule.
Nice to have
Experience in advanced fission, clean energy, or nuclear fuel technologies.
Experience working in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment.
Ability to propose creative solutions to open-ended technical problems.
