Bioinformatics Scientist (Cancer Genomics)

What you will do

• Analyze high-throughput DNA sequencing datasets using cancer biology and genomics knowledge.
• Implement and validate novel algorithms and statistical methods.
• Collaborate with molecular biologists and bioinformatics scientists to answer biological questions.
• Contribute to experimental design and quality control.
• Develop tools and end-to-end bioinformatics pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, engineering, molecular biology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience analyzing high-throughput genomic sequencing data.
• Experience with NGS data analysis, including mapping and variant calling.
• Strong programming skills in a scientific programming language, with Python strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of genomics, Linux command-line tools, shell scripting, data visualization, and hypothesis-driven research.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate results, and work with attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Background in machine learning and statistics.
• Experience with whole-genome sequencing.
• Familiarity with cancer biology and databases such as TCGA, COSMIC, or OncoKB.
