Application Scientist (Clinical Genomics)

Location: Remote from Poland; international business travel in Europe may be required.

What you will do

• Support pre-sales activities through expert demonstrations of VarSome Premium and Clinical, customer evaluations, and clinical workflow consultations.
• Lead customer onboarding for geneticists and bioinformaticians and support on-premises and private cloud deployments.
• Coordinate storage and network infrastructure requirements between customers and the DevOps team.
• Optimize variant filtering strategies and automation while supporting routine customer operations.
• Gather power-user feedback, contribute to product roadmap decisions, and support conference presentations and technical white papers.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, and growth marketing teams to improve product-market fit and customer growth.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Human Genetics, Laboratory Medicine, Molecular Biology, Pathology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with clinical genomics workflows, including NGS library preparation, sequencing, and secondary or tertiary analysis.
• Strong understanding of variant classification frameworks and NGS workflows.
• Ability to explain complex clinical genomics, bioinformatics, and IT concepts to clinicians, laboratory technicians, researchers, and IT professionals.
• Native Polish and fluent English are required.
• Strong prioritization, project management, self-organization, and commercial communication skills.

Nice to have

• Clinical experience interpreting NGS patient cases in a hospital or private laboratory.
• Knowledge of regulated environments and standards such as IVDR or CLIA/CAP.
• Experience supporting international customers or working in multicultural scale-up environments.
