Computational Scientist (Genomics)

Location: Cambridge, MA, United States; hybrid work with remote work as needed

Salary: $58,000–$80,667 per year

What you will do

• Analyze sequencing data to identify structural variants in the human genome.
• Use genomic population databases and aggregate phenotype and genotype datasets.
• Perform high-quality, large-scale computational analyses under the supervision of the group leader.
• Apply and develop computational methods to solve complex research problems.
• Contribute to research on genomic variation, genome structure and function, and the genetic architecture of neuropsychiatric and rare Mendelian disorders.

Requirements

• BS in a related field with 2+ years of experience, or an MS degree in a quantitative discipline.
• Quantitative background in computational biology, biostatistics, statistical genetics, computer science, bioinformatics, or biology.
• Practical experience with one or more of Java, C++, R, or Python.
• Experience with computational analysis, algorithm development, and statistical analysis.
• Ability to apply critical thinking, learn new analytical approaches quickly, and work on complex problems.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of bioinformatics analysis tools, methods, and databases.
