Compliance Investigator (Healthcare)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; Flex hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Base pay: $63,300–$114,300 annually. An annual incentive bonus plan may also apply.

What you will do

• Conduct internal investigations into misconduct concerns and potential violations of the Code of Conduct or company policies.
• Interview individuals, research inquiries, and accurately document reported information.
• Prepare detailed investigation summaries and recommend corrective or disciplinary action to senior management.
• Investigate moderate-risk areas identified through annual risk assessments.
• Monitor corrective action plans across HCSC and subsidiary operations.
• Provide guidance on conflicts of interest and the interpretation of company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Health Care Administration, or Human Resources plus 3 years of relevant research and investigation experience, or 7 years of such experience.
• Experience conducting internal investigations and interviewing individuals.
• Knowledge of HR policies and procedures and federal and state employment laws.
• Strong verbal and written communication, listening, organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Experience using Word, Excel, and database applications.
• Availability for a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in the Chicago office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of corporate policies, organizational structures, and corporate integrity and compliance programs.
• Certified Fraud Examiner or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional designation.
• Juris Doctorate, paralegal background, or other legal experience.
• Familiarity with governmental agencies such as the EEOC and Department of Human Rights.
