Research Compliance Specialist II

Location: Full-time remote within the United States; U.S. work authorization required

Salary: $72,000–$88,000 base annually; total estimated compensation including annual incentive opportunity: $77,760–$98,600

What you will do

• Review and triage IRB submissions, questions, concerns, complaints, and COI disclosures.
• Pre-review IRB submissions for federal oversight, missing materials, and special regulatory issues.
• Conduct non-committee IRB reviews, including not-human-research and exempt determinations.
• Support COI disclosure cycles and escalate late or non-compliant submissions.
• Evaluate COI disclosures against research portfolios and institutional responsibilities.
• Identify cases requiring COI Committee or leadership review and draft COI management plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least two years of combined IRB and COI experience.
• Knowledge of federal regulations governing ethical research conduct, human-subjects protection, and conflicts of interest.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with electronic IRB and COI submission and review systems.
• Effective time management, multitasking, communication, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly.

Nice to have

• Certification as an IRB Professional (CIP).
• Experience with the hirify.global HRPP Toolkit.
• Experience with HRS IRB or COI software.
